Re-Elect Basil Clarke Mayor
Keeping Ramara on Track

Priorities from 2018

High speed internet

In today’s day and age, you can’t operate a business without affordable quality high speed internet. This will be accomplished in partnership with Simcoe County through the SWIFT program, which we have already initiated.

Sell the remainder of the industrial park

Using the economic development department of Simcoe County, continue to market Ramara Township for prospective businesses.

Rama Road corridor

It’s time! We need to develop this corridor with sewer and water and this can only be accomplished with a positive partnership with Simcoe County.

Increased partnerships

Seek a partnership with the Chippewas of Rama First Nations for sewer, water, ambulance services and policing.

Other priorities:

  • As a farmer I’m very mindful of the importance of our farming community. I recognize the growing importance of access to farm fresh food and the preservation of farmland.

  • I also the realize the importance of Lake Simcoe to Ramara Township and all of Simcoe County.

  • Future development should occur in such a way so as not to jeopardize the future of the lake or local agriculture. We have to steer future growth towards the town of Brechin and portions of the Rama Road corridor.

  • Ramara needs to continue to invest in greener opportunities, such as LED lighting and our solar panel projects, to benefit both the environment and the local taxpayers.
